This exquisite design is by William Morris, an important figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement that was popular from between 1880-1920.  His beautiful designs are popular the world over.  Morris' belief in beautiful and functional objects in the home parallels a similar viewpoint shared with many Scandinavian designers.  Additionally, Morris, as with many Scandinavians, was inspired by nature creating motifs with intricate detailing and flowing forms.

The Pimpernel pattern is from 1876.  This elaborate symmetrical pattern is the first example of Morris using a "repeat pattern".  Centered on large tulip flowers and loops of foliage, the title Pimpernel refers to the small flowers dotted throughout the design.  The pattern can be found in Morris' own dining room at Kelmscott House in Hammersmith, England.

Ekelund table runners are an instant heirloom that are perfect for your home, as well as gift giving to that special someone.

Machine wash 60°C. Wash the table runner with similar colors with or without fabric softener. Table runners from Ekelund should not be tumble dried. Shake out the runner thoroughly after washing and hang it up to dry. For best results, iron the table runner slightly damp lengthwise. If you want extra good results, shape the runner immediately after shaking it out.
