Cook County, where Nan Onkka is based, is one of the best places in the United States to see Northern Lights because of the dark skies.  Similarly, Northern Sweden is the best place in Sweden to see the Northern Lights.  This card is a great celebration of those views and the special places that are Northern Minnesota and Sweden.

Nan Onkka is a printmaking artist located in Grand Marais, Minnesota. She works from her home studio. Lake Superior and the boreal forest are constant inspirations behind her work.

Nan holds a bachelor's degree in Studio Art from St. Olaf College and a master's of Art Education from Boston University.

Nan began selling her artwork as a hobby in 2016 while working as a high school art teacher. After having her first child in 2018, she decided to become a full-time artist in hopes of pursuing her printmaking while spending more time with her son.

Nan is lucky to live in Grand Marais and participate in friluftsliv (getting outside and connecting with the natural world). Lake Superior and the boreal forest are inspirations behind her stunning and original art.
