The Lichen earrings have an asymmetrical expression where the soft organic shapes lie like waves on the earlobe. The surface has contrasts between the glossy and the matte, which creates a unique expression. Lichen is inspired by Finse, Norway where you can find beautiful species of lichen that grow in the rocky landscape in the harsh nature 1222 meters above sea level.

Master goldsmith Leif Johannessen taught at Bergen School of Crafts in Norway. In 1940, Leif and his wife, Betzy, moved to Voss ~ where Sylvsmidja is based still today. They stamped all the jewelry on the back with a J shaped like a drinking horn, so that everyone who bought it could be sure that they owned a genuine Sylvsmidja piece of jewelry.

Today, Sylvsmidja in Voss has 65 employees and is Norway's leading producer of bunad silver. Sylvsmidja's skilled silversmiths and goldsmiths have extensive experience and extensive knowledge of sterling silver.
