Almost all of Sweden’s population eats crispbread; a traditional Swedish wholegrain rye bread.  Leksands Original Crispbread Triangles are a tender and crispy bread that have been baked since 1891.   The ingredients are still the same ~ locally grown Swedish rye, water from the Leksands spring, yeast, and a pinch of salt.

Triangle Bread makes a great replacement for bread because it stays fresh longer and is easy to transport.  Some of us have found this to be a great sandwich option when we are off in nature enjoying some friluftsliv  ('open air'time ~ think road trips, camping, bike ride snacks.

Other great options for Leksands Original Crispbread:

  • Crushed over a bowl of yogurt, maybe with some berries, for a naturally low sugar, high fibre and delicious granola for breakfast.
  • Topped with smoked salmon and cream cheese for lunch.
  • Used as pizza base for dinner (oh yes, crispbread pizza is a thing and it’s delicious).

Whole grain rye flour, water from our Leksands own spring, yeast, salt.

Leksands is a family run business currently run by the 6th generation based in Leksand in Dalarna County, Sweden. Jacob’s Karin had a simple but genius recipe for crispbread, rye from the fields surrounding the farm, water from its own well, yeast and a pinch of salt. She taught her daughter Anna the art of baking, Anna started a bakery and the rest is history.
