Swedish candle chimes (änglaspel) became popular in Sweden, and all over Europe, after WWII. The brass decoration is lit with these candles, and then the heat from the candles spins the decoration. Candle chimes are a popular Jul (Christmas) decoration throughout Sweden.
Candles are also a big deal in Sweden year-round where they can be found burning throughout the home to create a sense of light and mysigt (loosely a Swedish term for 'warm and pleasant').
