Rán Flygenring is an author, artist and illustrator who was born in Norway, and raised in Iceland. Rán works on a variety of projects within the creative field, primarily focusing on writing, illustration, and storytelling. She has received many awards, most recently The Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize for "Eldgos"
in 2023.

Rán Flygenring is based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Vigdís was her first book and won the Reykjavík City Children’s Literature Prize in 2019.
