Now all four parts of Vilhelm Moberg's Emigrant Series are easy to read!

North America in the mid-19th century. Karl Oskar and Kristina are two poor farmers from Småland. They have left their home and settled in a valley in Minnesota with their children. More and more people are coming to the valley. Together they begin to build a new community with a school, church and cemetery. But Kristina has a hard time getting used to life in the foreign country. She feels lonely and tormented by homesickness. Karl Oskar worries about his brother Robert, who has set out to dig for gold in California, and who no one has heard from since he left.

The settlers are the third part.

Johan Werkmäster has retold Vilhelm Moberg's classics in easy - to - read Swedish.
