The Leksand pattern was designed by Carola Bengtsson Malmstöm for Arvidssons Textil..  Leksand is a town in the Province of Dalarna, which is known for the Dala Horse.  The Dala Horse is one of the most comon symbols of Sweden and in particular for Swedish traditional folk art.

Arvidssons Textiles, was founded in 1949 and is now run by the third generation. They are well known for their traditional hand-painted designs. Arvidsson's Textile manages the Scandinavian design tradition with a collection of graphic design and design inspired by nature. They create their patterns in close collaboration with a number of Swedish designers. The textiles are manufactured in Europe, which provides a high quality and a responsibility for our environment. Their fabrics are certified with Oeko-Tex 100, which means that the fabric is free of harmful chemicals.
