The watercolor Karin läser was painted by Carl in 1904.  Karin is sitting and reading a book in the dining room of the home in Sundborn.  In 1906, Carl Larsson again rented a studio in Stockholm, and he wrote from there in March to Karin, when he had received back the paintings that had been exhibited in Venice in 1905: "Here, believe me, it looks magnificent with all those small paintings from Venice. I enjoy looking at it where you sit, in profile, with a scarf, and read: I think it's so similar."  The painting was bought by Emma Zorn and is now owned by the Zorn Collections in Mora. Anders and Emma Zorn were good friends of Carl and Karin.

This bookmark represents a small portion of the overall painting.  A nice remembrance of the Karin Larsson exhibition at ASI, and a nice image to open up your book to.
