Send Swedish Värmland greetings with this beautiful Arctic Starflower greeting card designed by Minnesota artist Lisa Rydin Erickson.
Arctic Starflower ('Skogsstjärna' in Swedish) is the iconic flower of Värmland, which is a province in west central Sweden nicknamed 'the lake district' because it has over 10,000 lakes (just like Minnesota!). Visitors to ASI may be familiar with our sculpture of Selma Lagerlöf, Nobel Prize Winner for Literature and one of Värmland's most notable residents.
Includes envelope (each card is cellophane-wrapped).
As a working mother with limited time, Minnesotan Lisa Rydin Erickson began her artistic career drawing on her iPad on her bus commute to work; within a year she had created hundreds of drawings. Receiving positive responses to her work, she had her designs professionally printed and we are now lucky to share her work with you at The American Swedish Institute! Lisa is inspired by the beauty of nature, and in particular the cards available at the ASI Retail Store are inspired by the flora of the provinces of Sweden.
Swedish Nature Inspires Minnesota Artist
Inspired by the flora of the provinces of Sweden, Lisa Rydin Erickson translates nature with her own graphic style into beautiful notecards that are frame worthy.
